Carlos & Sam – A Wedding at Old Thorns Manor Hotel.

I recently posted a sneak peek from Carlos & Sam’s gorgeous wedding day at Old Thorns Manor Hotel. Well, they seemed to go down so well that here are the rest of them, or at least my favourite selection!

Carlos & I go way back (over 30 years!) and it was a real privilege to be a part of the wedding day as he married his lovely fiancée Sam alongside all of their friends and family.

Old Thorns is an amazing venue, with a totally eclectic mix of interior design throughout each different section of the hotel. From a wall of classic movie images, fine art and sculptures, right through to a self-playing piano and a pair of matching thrones. Add a championship Golf Course to the mix, and we really were spoilt for choice when it came to choosing locations for some intimate portraits of the newly married Mr & Mrs Dabreo.

LOST PROPHETS – Southampton Guildhall, 2nd May 2012.

The Lost Prophets rolled up in their tour bus to Southampton Guildhall last week for a long overdue visit, and they had plenty of fans more than happy to see them.
I was there on behalf of the Guildhall as usual, although I was expecting the pit to be a little busier with photographers (maybe they heard about the shockingly bad lights!), and in total just three photographers were there to capture Welsh rockers Ian Watkins & Co, complete with megaphone, in their full glory.
I’m sure their adoring fanbase had an amazing time. The band rocked out all of their best known songs and got a great reception. Shooting a lively rock band in almost total silhouette is pretty tricky, but you have to crack on, and I’m pretty happy with this set of images.
No doubt the fans will be hoping to see them back on the South Coast in the near future. If the band bring a few more lights next time, then maybe a few more photographers might hope they come back again too.

Sneak Peek – Carlos & Sam Dabreo at Old Thorns Manor Hotel

I recently had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of Carlos, a very old friend of mine and his beautiful partner Sam as they got married at the superb Old Thorns Manor Hotel, nr Liphook, Hampshire, just a few weeks ago.
I’ve known Carlos since we started school together 31 years ago here in Southampton, right through until the age of 16. It was at secondary school that we both met Paul, Carlos’ best mate and ‘Best Man’ at the wedding.
It was a real privilege to be a part of Sam & Carlos’ wedding day and shoot their wedding photos, and to share the day with all of their friends and family, some of whom I’ve also known for the best part of 30 years!

This is just a little teaser with a few of my favourite images from their amazing wedding day, and a larger set will be updated on here once Carlos and Sam have seen the full set!

Every cloud has a silver lining…

…and in 2012 every Wedding Package here at Lightbox Studios includes a Free Engagement shoot and DVD slideshow! After a busy wedding season last year, nearly every couple decided to book their own ‘Engagement shoot’ with Lightbox Studios as well, so for 2012 it seemed the obvious thing to do – include a free E-shoot with every 2012 package!

In addition, every couple who want to book their E-shoot with us BEFORE booking the wedding will be even happier to see that if it then turns into a booking for the entire wedding, the cost of the engagement shoot is taken off the cost of the whichever wedding package they book!
